Job Description
Animal Admiration seeks highly responsible and reliable animal lovers to join our pet sitting and dog walking team. Pet sitters and dog walkers provide personalized care for pets of varying species and needs in their homes.
This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing individuals to manage their schedule, enjoy an active work environment, and interact with West Houston’s most beloved companion animals. The position is ideal for those who want to turn their passion for pets into a fulfilling part-time position.
Responsibilities
- Handle various animal species, including dogs, cats, backyard chicken flocks, and small mammals
- Provide personalized care for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medication
- Personalize exercise and activities to pets’ age, breed, and energy levels
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets by being proactive and preventing accidents
- Engage pets on their terms and provide attention according to pets’ temperament and preferences
- Maintain cleanliness of pet areas, including but not limited to litter box maintenance, waste disposal, and tidying of pet bowls and feeding areas
- Monitor pet health and behavior and communicate changes and concerns to management team and pet parents
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and uphold Animal Admiration’s policies and protocols
- Ability to pass a thorough reference and background check
- Ability to pass a drug test and remain drug-free during employment
- Availability mornings, evenings, and/or weekends for pet sitters and Monday through Friday 10 AM to 3 PM for dog walkers; schedules vary based on client requests
- Ability to learn a new software and mobile app for use during visits and to manage schedule
- Profound care and compassion for pets and other animals
- Respect for others and a respectful communication style
- A valid driver’s license
- Personal, reliable, registered, and insured transportation
- A smart device with a camera and GPS capabilities for scheduling and client updates
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs

Collaboration & Commitment
Animal Admiration Pet Care is built on a foundation of collaboration and commitment. Most of our staff members remain on the team for at least two years. We currently have employees celebrating 8 to 10 years on the team. We also have a client of 15 years who recently became a pet sitter.
We operate as a team, understanding that our ability to make a positive impact depends on the commitment and dedication of every employee. Our love for animals and respect for one another is at the core of everything we do.
