A Special Community Event in Katy
The “Blessing of the Animals” is hosted by Blue Line K-9 Dog Training on May 2nd from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at VFW Park in Katy, Texas.
This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone and welcomes pets of all kinds. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, or another beloved companion, this is a chance to step outside, connect with others, and celebrate the central role pets play in our lives.

The Meaning Behind Katy’s “Blessing of the Animals” Event
Today, many “Blessing of the Animals” events are non-denominational and inclusive of all faiths and creeds, welcoming people of all backgrounds to participate in a simple but meaningful moment of appreciation.
The tradition of blessing animals has deep historical roots, often associated with St. Francis of Assisi, the Catholic saint and patron of animals and the environment. At this event, a non-denominational preacher will share a blessing at 12:00 PM, offering attendees a chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate the animals who bring so much joy into their lives.
