How Animal Admiration Pet Sitting Aced the Assignment
I could not be more proud of Animal Admiration’s response to Hurricane Beryl. I am beyond thankful for the team that consistently helps make my dream a reality – even during weather emergencies. From hurricane prep to response, our sitters did not miss a beat. Even with intermittent technology and power outages, Animal Admiration performed at the level that our clients have come to expect of us. Today, I’m sharing how Animal Admiration aced the assignment when facing Hurricane Beryl with our A+ team.
Communication
We went to work on implementing our inclement weather plan as soon as forecasts showed a threat to the Houston area. Our inclement weather plan states that we will act quickly and reasonably in accordance with our designated policies and procedures. We remained tuned to local weather stations knowing that storms can change directions very quickly.
Once it was clear that Beryl would make landfall in our area, we initiated storm-related communication with clients and staff members. We then sustained contact with sitters, clients, and emergency contacts through the storm and until power returned to the homes in our care. Our goal is always to protect our clients’ pets and homes as well as our pet care team. We can only attain this goal with up-to-date forecasts, forethought, planning, and ongoing communication – especially with disrupted technology and power.
Team Work
Animal Admiration counts on our staff members to provide services, rain or shine. We could not have met the needs of the pets in our care without our employees’ dedicated sense of responsibility. We could not have kept pets safe without our team’s commitment. And, we could not have operated without their compassion for the pets that were scheduled and the pet parents that were standing by for updates.
Working within the law and keeping staff close to home, our team came together to determine when visits could safely be completed. We had one sitter go out at 9 AM between bands in the hurricane to ensure the dogs in their care got a much-needed potty break; they had not been out the night before due to the timing of the storm.
The care, compassion, and attention to detail our team showed is awe-inspiring. I am forever grateful to these hard-working, dedicated caregivers. Their actions are what defines a professional pet sitter and separates us from hobby pet sitters and the kid next door. Their level of care is the result of our careful recruiting, hiring, training, and support standards. Our Management Team hand-chose these pros – we couldn’t have compiled a more exceptional crew.
