Labor Day Weekend is here! Either to your delight or dismay, the unofficial end of summer holiday has finally arrived. Soon the days with get shorter and cooler temperatures will make their way into the forecast. Whether you’re happy or sad to see summer go, Labor Day weekend is a great occasion to spend time relaxing with family and friends. Here are a few ideas in case you don’t know what you want to do this weekend.
Take a break at the pool – The sad reality that comes with this holiday weekend is that most pools will be closing until next year. So this may be your last chance to soak up some poolside fun in the sun. Find some friends or get the family together, grab some good food to grill and you are all set to have a great time.
Go on a Day Trip – Chances are, if you haven’t already made plans to go on a Labor Day weekend vacation, then it’s a little too late. However, that that doesn’t exactly mean that it’s too late to hit the road. Find a nearby town or park that you’ve always wanted to visit, grab a few snacks and enjoy a little road trip. The best part about this is your four-legged friend will love it just as much you will!
Local Events – One of the greatest things about holiday weekends is all of the free events that usually come with it. A lot of towns celebrate Labor Day by having parades and festivals. What’s even better about this is you can usually have a fun filled day without breaking the bank. *Side note: If you’re going to a parade, you may want to leave your dog at home if sirens and loud noises bother them.
Go Shopping – Labor Day Weekend is full of fabulous sales. What a better way to celebrate your labors than with a little retail therapy? You can buy a few new things, but know you’re getting a great deal and making every cent of your hard earned dollar count.
These are just a few ideas of how you can spend your holiday weekend if you’re looking to get out of the house. You may just want to lounge around in PJ’s and cuddle with your fur baby and that sounds pretty nice too. I will probably be doing a little bit of both. However you choose to spend your weekend, I’m sure it’ll be fantastic, since hopefully you won’t be at work!
HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!!!
